Growing up with black-and-white television and only three channels, pop culture constantly shaped my imagination. Without a pause button, trying to draw my favourite characters on the fly was a challenge that quickly sharpened my skills. I also loved copying the beautiful watercolor and gouache line art from our grade-one textbooks, which my teacher proudly displayed at the back of the room. From those early moments, I always knew art was my destiny.
